Recreation Room

The large Rec Room/meeting room is great for family reunions, special events or socializing with other guests.  The room is newly remodeled and has a full kitchen area, tables with seating, restroom, TV and wood burning fireplace.  The room  may be reserved  for private functions at a small charge.

Hot Tubs

There are two new hot tubs, one inside and one outside. We have recently built a log cover over the outdoor hot tub.  Also on  the grounds are the guest laundry room with coin operated washers and dryers.

Outdoor Recreation

Ute Bluff Lodge is located on 17-1/2 acres bordering the Rio Grande National Forest. Directly across Highway 160 is the Rio Grande River, where gold medal fishing is available. Fishing is always excellent whether in the streams, rivers or lakes, within walking distance or a 15 minute drive.

You can hike, bike or ATV on mountain trails, horseback ride, drive our scenic byways, or just sit outside your cabin and enjoy the cool clean air. We offer Golf Packages or choose a day trip to Mesa Verde, the Sand Dunes National Park, Creede,  or Lake City.  Also close at hand are some local waterfalls, the Rio Grande train ride from Alamosa to LaVeta and the Narrow Gauge trains of  Durango or Antonito. Whatever you decide, you can enjoy the great outdoors, as well as viewing the wildlife.  Be sure and check the Related Links page for links to other activities. 

Elk and deer hunting seasons are popular in the South Fork area and the Ute Bluff Lodge sits between the Southwest game units of 76, 79 & 80. Hunters staying as our guests can walk onto unit 80 from the property. Game poles and plenty of pickup truck and trailer parking are available.

During the winter, the Wolf Creek Ski Area averages over 400 inches of natural snow each year. Most of the flakes that fall are the type  of powder other ski areas dream about. We have great ski packages available that include lift tickets.
