The Ute Bluff Lodge is located on 17 ½ acres bordering the Rio Grande National Forest. Directly across Highway 160 is the Rio Grande River, where gold medal fishing is available.     White water rafting is also available on the Rio Grande River. Restaurants are a short drive from the Ute Bluff Lodge, only approximately 1 ½ miles away.

There are two hot tubs, one inside and one outside. Also on the grounds, are the guest laundry room and meeting room. The meeting room is great for family reunions and special events.     Summer in South Fork is a time to get away from your daily grind to unwind and relax. Fishing is always excellent either in the rivers or in the lakes, within walking distance or a 15 minute drive.

The Wolf Creek Ski Area averages over 400 inches of snow each year. Most of the flakes that fall are the type of powder other ski areas dream about. The Ute Bluff Lodge is conveniently located off the highway so travel is not a problem, even if we have 10 new inches of snow. Winter is not a time to hibernate, it is a time to bundle up and enjoy the great outdoors. We have great ski packages available that include lift tickets.     In autumn, nature does a beautiful sight on the mountains as the aspen turns multi shades of gold. The days are still warm, the summer crowds are gone and the mountains put on a fall show.

You can hike, bike or ATV on mountain trails, horseback ride, drive our scenic byways, or just sit outside your cabin or room and enjoy the cool clean air. We offer Stay and Play Golf Packages. Day trips to Mesa Verde, the Sand Dunes, Creede, and Lake City are close at hand, as are some local waterfalls and the Narrow Gauge trains of Durango or Antonito. Whatever you decide, you can enjoy the great outdoors, as well as viewing the wildlife.

With our cool nights, we don't believe in air conditioning in the South Fork!     Elk and deer hunting seasons are popular in the South Fork area and the Ute Bluff Lodge sits between the Southwest game units of 76, 79 & 80. Hunters staying as our guests can walk onto unit 80 from the property. Game poles and plenty of pickup truck and trailer parking are available.
